About

Drew Okoye is a MD/DC based non-union performer and senior theatre and psychology double major at the University of Maryland, College Park. They are most drawn to musical theatre, Black theatre, and theatre that emphasizes complex characters and relationships. Being part of an ensemble that creates nuanced, thought-provoking art that challenges and expands their perception of all kinds of topics is the reason that Drew does theatre.

In addition to their training and experience as an actor, Drew also has experience as a lighting technician at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, and is exploring the world of fight and intimacy coordination. They value rigorous training and are participating as a mentee in the 2026 Theatre Washington Mentorship Program. Drew brings dedication, energy, humor, and thoughtfulness to any theatre space they enter.
